Go big or go home is the name of the game when it comes to this Martin Dreadnought...or should we say Super Dreadnought! This is the Martin Custom Shop Super D with a VTS Sitka spruce top paired with highly flamed koa for the back and sides. While Martin has previously produced a slightly oversized instrument in the form of the D-45S Authentic 1936 inspired by an instrument from the C.F. Martin Museum Collection, this Super Dreadnought (The Super D) is now the largest body size in Martin’s product line. It has an internal air volume approximately twenty percent greater than the standard Dreadnought, which effectively boosts the bass output while maintaining accurate mid and treble frequencies. It also includes a new proprietary bracing pattern to maximize tone and volume. The Super D consistently tests near 12dB above the standard Dreadnought, making the volume gain all the more impactful! When you dig in to playing the Super D with a heavy hand, you get that top moving and air coming out of this acoustic like you wouldn't believe. Don't be hung up on the slightly larger body, the guitar features a very comfortable modified low oval profile on the mahogany neck with a high performance taper that makes it a slim "C" - very easy to play for extended periods! If you need a Martin that will pump you through the mix like a cannon - the Super D is it!
